P.S. I've also "done" graphics on on Delluxe Paint III on Amiga a long time ago, when I was a young boy then :)

Hello Chris!

I am really sorry I haven't answered your comment yet but I have been extremely busy with a crazy deadline (as always...).

I value every comment on my site, in fact, I kept you in mind this past week and meant to give you a personalized and detailed answer.

I usually work at 300DPI resolution. The standard, at least in the comics and magazine/book publishing industry.

Do you scan your drawings on paper at a resolution higher than 300 DPI? Maybe that could be the problem?

From my experience, 300 DPI is enough for most digital/print work.

If I understood your question correctly, you work on files sized at 30x40cm which at 300 DPI should equal to 4724 x 5906 pixels. It's large, but not that large to require brushes of 300 pixel width to outline elements in the page. In fact, a 300 pixel wide brush stroke would appear fairly large on an image of that size. If you were using a resolution higher than 300 DPI, let's say 600.. then it could be a problem, but I never had to scale to that resolution so far.

I hope this helps. If not, can you give me more details on the size of your images, in pixels?

Thanks!

Roberto

p.s. Yes... Deluxe Paint III.. the myth! I was 14 when I started using it in 1988.. ahhh... this brings me back to the stone age of comnputer graphics :)

Thanks :) You've helped me a lot - I'll try to go on with the instructions and try to do it your way.
And yes, I've started with different sizes of scans, mostly with 300dpi but also experimented with higher resolutions.

I'll let you know if your hint was right hehe

P.S. I've done simple animations with DP III and later IV - very raw animations, beeing nearle the same age as you've been xD
Splitted it into many parts on mayn 1,44 disks, working with 1024kB ram and system crashes on the fly^^
Finished at least a simple kiddy animation of nearly 10 minutes g

This image is fantastic, you are an inspiration. I myself am just getting into photoshop. I have hundreds of sketches of beasts, and heros and creatures, I have scanned only a few onto the computer because I am a total novice at photoshop, I have about 10 hours of experience on it. I have produced, to the best of my knowledge and efforts my first painting based on a sketch I did, I would be happy to send it to you and read your comments about it.

It is literally a "click and see what that does" image, but I think it looks ok...I hope to hear back from you about this.
